Knowledge and Vision Test
- Completion of Knowledge Test with a minimum score of 20/25 (80%) correct
- Completion of Vision Test, either

- @ Vision Specialist w/ NDDOT Form

Driver Education and Licensing
If you are at least 15 years old, you can apply for a Class D restricted driver license. You must have held the Instruction Class D permit for at least 12 months if you are under the age of 16, or at least 6 months if you are under the age of 18. You must have completed driver education and 50 hours of practice driving in variable conditions if you are under the age of 16 prior to being allowed to take the road test.
Certificate of Training:
- Driving student completed 30 hours of classroom instruction
- Driving student completed 6 hours of behind-the-wheel instruction
Certificate of Course Completion*:
- Driving student completed 30 hours of classroom instruction
- Driving student completed 6 hours of behind-the-wheel instruction
- Driving student demonstrated proficiency in a selected set of driving skills provided by the NDDOT Drivers License Division
*A Certificate of Course Completion is not dependent on how many hours or the service package that is purchased from a commercial driving school. It is awarded only to those that have demonstrated driving proficiency.
